Should be "Netherlander", not "Dutch"

On the word "Dutch"

A Canadian is from Canada,
A Norwegian is from Norway,
A Mexican is from Mexico,
A German is from Germany.

Yet someone from the Netherlands is called Dutch.
Who has ever heard of Dutchland?
